Sweet Success: How to Choose the Perfect Dessert for Your Big Day!

James and I first met Melissa Lawson at the Swan Harbor Wedding Expo in Havre de Grace, MD. It was love at first taste when she handed us a few of her delicious cake samples. We have purchased several of her fabulous creations over the last few years and she never says “no” to our request for crazy decorative ideas! We asked her to give 3 tips for couples deciding on their wedding day cake/pastry selections and here was her advice.

  1. A good place to start is to think about the style of your wedding and venue. Look through magazines or browse the internet for inspiration. 
  2. I recommend couples book their wedding cake/cupcakes 4-6 months in advance.
  3. Decide on a budget first and then start researching what fits that budget.
