Megan & Jared’s Journey to “I Do!”

Megan and Jared tied the knot in November 2023 at the Morningside Inn in Frederick, MD. Here is what they had to say about how they met and their big day!

How did you meet? He was in the military attending his schoolhouse at fort Meade. He came out with my friend’s boyfriend as his “battle buddy” and we just clicked.

Who popped the question and how? He did. He was stationed in Springfield, Massachusetts and he drove down one weekend to visit. It was very lowkey, we were just in my apartment, and he just got down on one knee and proposed (I am not a big flashy person I don’t like all the attention on me).

What was your wedding style? (Ex: Romantic, Whimsical, Modern, Rustic, Bohemian, Elegant) I would say it was a bit rustic.

When it came to planning your wedding, what was most important to you? Not losing my mind. Staying sane and not becoming a bridezilla was the most important. Also just making sure everyone had a great time (including myself).

What was the best part of your wedding day? Celebrating with my loved ones (and the cake).

If you could provide a tip to another couple planning their wedding, what would it be? Don’t feel the need to plan everything on your own. Please hire a wedding planner, they will seriously save your life (and your sanity).

Where did you say YES to the dress, and what designer did you wear? I’m not sure what designer to be honest, but I did say yes to the dress at David’s Bridal.

Where were the bridesmaids’ dresses purchased from? Azazie. They have a wide range of colors and styles of dresses.

Groom/groomsmen attire – where were they purchased/rented from? The groomsmen rented from the men’s warehouse; the groom decided he was going to purchase his from there instead of renting.

Where did you order your favors, party gifts, etc. from? We got our favors from foryourparty.com (the wine glasses) and the candy was brought to you by Hershey’s chocolate world (shout out to Michelle) and Target.

When it came to your venue selection, why did you choose to get married there? It was the first place we looked at. I just loved the fact that it was on so much land. The pictures turned out fantastic, thanks to Jason at JayBird Shoots. It also had the indoor-outdoor option for the ceremony, and even if you chose the indoor option, the outside was still available for the guests to use. Plus, it was just beautiful inside.

What made you choose our company? Hilltop Cabin Event Creations came highly recommended from a close family friend. Plus, I have first-hand knowledge of how you run your events and I have to say I am VERY impressed.
