Carolyn and Tam’s Cherished Moments: A Journey to ‘I Do’

James and I met Carolyn first at the Timonium Fairgrounds Wedding Expo and we couldn’t stop talking after she left our booth about how awesome it would be to help make her dream a reality. She and Tam had a very clear vision of how they wanted their big day to go, and it was an honor to be a part of it. These two know how to celebrate because they not only had a traditional Vietnamese ceremony at their lovely home in the morning, they danced the night away as well after an American ceremony at the Sheraton Hotel in Towson.

How did you meet?

We met at the hospital we worked at during new Resident training where I was teaching some of the clinical scenarios.

Who popped the question and how?

On his birthday, he said he wanted to go to Loch Raven, one of his favorite spots. We went there and walked to the beach area where we stood taking in the sights. I heard some rustling behind us, turned around and saw someone with a camera pointed at us. I whispered, “Hey there is someone pointing a camera at us.” He said, “Probably just taking photos of the birds,” then fumbled and said, “I figured out what I want for my birthday. I want a fiancée.” He then got down on one knee and proposed.
